As I am the grill master at our home, I ordered an appropriate apron with a catchy saying on it for my barbecuing endeavors. It is a nice apron, the size is right and the design is good as well. The only thing that is rather disappointing is that the material is some sort of slick, shiny Polyester which the listing neglected to disclose. Had I known it was not more of a natural fabric such as some blend of cotton, or a cotton & polyester mix to give it the waterproof resistance, I probably would not have ordered it. Also, the saying that is screened on it, I question the durability of the wording not coming off more quickly on this type of slick fabric. The general look of the polyester material makes the apron kind of look and feel fake. Overall, I am not as happy with it as I would like to be and am therefore only giving it an average rating.
I like this apron. It’s a lighter weight so it doesn’t heat you up so much in a warm kitchen. The fabric has a shine to it that also makes it somewhat water resistant, helping to keep me from getting soaked from splashes at the sink. The lettering is screen printed and flexible feeling, so should last over time and not crack. I like the adjustable strap around the neck since I’m tall and can adjust it so the top of the apron isn’t up near my throat and not bother with ties that catch my hair. The back ties are generous and make it easier to tie behind than dealing with short ones where you have to fumble with short ends. The pockets are nice to slip something in, but in general I don’t use them since I find it annoying to have anything in them, other than maybe a sheet of paper towel for my hands, that bumps against the counter as I’m working. Overall, a fun, functional kitchen necessity.
